Prospective of %u201cTECO Award%u201dThe following are three aspects of my expectations for the TECO Award:(1) Knowledge sharing:Strengthen the visibility of the %u201cTECO Award%u201d, allow the winners to give lectures to drive the trend of domestic science and technology research, attract outstanding young people to strive for excellence, and make the Chinese people regard the %u201cTECO Award%u201d as the representative of Taiwan%u2019s science and technology awards.(2) Sustainable energy:Leveraging the visibility of the TECO Award to encourage the development of net-zero carbon emissions and sustainable energy is the path that mankind must take in the future. For example, using carbon dioxide as raw material to produce valuable substances can solve carbon emissions and convert greenhouses into raw materials for the production of useful compounds.(3) Support potential research directions:TECO Enterprises is a well-known motor power industry. If it can promote the development of power storage, it can expand the company%u2019s influence. For example, battery research and development supports the development of all-solidstate systems, which have high safety and extremely high production yields, and have poor charged carrier transmission performance. If there can be a breakthrough in this area of technology, it will definitely bring benefits to new energy batteries. Come revolutionary development to further enhance the development of net-zero carbon reduction.History of AchievementsProfessor Hsi-Sheng Teng was born in 1962 into a family with a strong background in chemical engineering. His father graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Taipei Institute of Technology (now, National Taipei University of Technology) and worked in the coatings industry, while his mother was a teacher. His younger sister works at a prominent semiconductor company in the United States, and his younger brother has taken over their father's business. During an era when many Taiwanese university students aspired to study abroad in the U.S., after earning his bachelor%u2019s degree in chemical engineering from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and completing his military service, he worked as an assistant at National Tsing Hua University before fulfilling his dream of studying in the United States. He pursued his master%u2019s and PhD degrees in engineering at Brown University. After graduation, Professor 132 133
